The short version: FireNow does not collect your data. Everything you enter stays on your device.
Last updated: 28 September 2026
FireNow ("the app") is a personal finance and financial-independence planning app for iPhone and iPad, made in Singapore. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server that holds your financial information.
None.
We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent or share any personal or financial information. Specifically, FireNow has:
Everything you enter into FireNow - accounts, balances, income, expenses, budgets, CPF figures, cards, your name, your assumptions and any other detail - is stored locally on your device only, in the app's private storage.
We cannot see this data. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
If you delete FireNow, this data is removed with it. We have no copy and cannot recover it for you, which is why the app provides backups (any backup you have saved or exported stays yours).
FireNow can export your data to a backup file. This happens only when you choose to do it.
When you export, iOS hands the file to you through the standard share sheet, and you decide where it goes - for example Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop or an email to yourself. Once you send it somewhere, that destination's own privacy policy applies to it. FireNow does not upload the file anywhere, and we never receive it.
Importing a backup reads the file you pick and replaces the data on your device.
Automatic iCloud backup (optional). If you switch it on in the app, FireNow saves a backup file to your own iCloud Drive (Files > iCloud Drive > FireNow) about once a day when you leave the app, and keeps a set of recent copies. The files are stored by Apple in your iCloud account, under Apple's privacy policy; we never receive them. It is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off and delete the files at any time.
FireNow uses Expo's over-the-air update service so we can deliver improvements and fixes without a full App Store release.
To check whether an update is available, the app contacts Expo's update servers (u.expo.dev). That request carries only basic technical information needed to serve the correct update, such as the app version, runtime version, platform and update channel. It does not include any of your financial data, and it does not include information that identifies you personally.
Expo's privacy policy is available at expo.dev/privacy.
The App Store itself may also collect information about downloads and crashes under Apple's own policies. That is between you and Apple; we do not receive your identity from it.
If you email us at the address below, we will have your email address and whatever you choose to write to us. We use it only to reply to you and to improve the app. We do not add you to any mailing list.
FireNow asks for a permission only when a feature needs it - for example access to the Files app when you export or import a backup. It does not request contacts, location, camera, photos, microphone or health data.
FireNow is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no information at all, this is a formality rather than a practice.
Your data is held in your device's app-private storage and is protected by your device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID and by iOS's own file protection. We recommend keeping a device passcode enabled.
Because your data never leaves your device, there is no server of ours that can be breached. The trade-off is that we cannot restore data for you if you lose your device - please keep your own backups.
FireNow is a planning and record-keeping tool. It does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Projections are estimates based on assumptions that you enter, and actual results will differ. CPF and income tax figures are modelled for planning purposes and are not official calculations. Always refer to official sources such as the CPF Board and IRAS, and consider speaking to a licensed adviser, before making decisions.
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and publish the revised version at this address. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
